{"id":6896,"date":"2018-04-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-23T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:10151\/uncategorized\/um-wins-australian-federal-government-master-media-account\/"},"modified":"2018-04-23T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-04-23T00:00:00","slug":"um-wins-australian-federal-government-master-media-account","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jp.umww.com\/en\/um-in-the-news\/um-wins-australian-federal-government-master-media-account\/","title":{"rendered":"UM Wins Australian Federal Government Master Media Account"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">UM Australia has confirmed its appointment by the federal government as its master media agency, following\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bandt.com.au\/media\/um-snares-federal-governments-master-media-contract-dentsux\">B&amp;T\u2019s story<\/a><\/em>\u00a0yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The appointment follows an exhaustive five-month statutory review period and will be for an ongoing period of three years, with a potential extension for a further three years.<\/p>\n<p>UM has extensive experience with the government\u2019s media, having handled the business from 2002 to 2014.<\/p>\n<div id=\"mb_video_placement\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>The government and UM will embark on a multi-layered partnership to support and inform the Australian population on important communication and information needs.<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>The new communications contract embraces all elements of digitally-focused and traditional media, as well as recognising the capabilities of media focused on ethnic and indigenous communities.<\/p>\n<p>UM will lead the government assignment and orchestrate collective resources within the IPG Mediabrands Australia group.<\/p>\n<p>Fiona Johnston, chief executive of UM Australia, said: \u201cTaking the government\u2019s messaging to the whole of Australia in a way that is dynamic and considered is indeed a humbling task.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are in a world that needs our careful counsel and balance between human intelligence and automated capability.
