{"id":7838,"date":"2020-03-08T16:46:46","date_gmt":"2020-03-08T16:46:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:10151\/?p=7838"},"modified":"2020-04-23T19:39:19","modified_gmt":"2020-04-23T19:39:19","slug":"diverse-topical-enlightening-and-entertaining-these-were-the-best-brand-storytellers-of-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jp.umww.com\/en\/um-in-the-news\/diverse-topical-enlightening-and-entertaining-these-were-the-best-brand-storytellers-of-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Diverse, Topical, Enlightening and Entertaining, These Were the Best Brand Storytellers of 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an effort to highlight the important work that nurses do and solidify the company\u2019s position as a long-standing advocate for the profession, Johnson &amp; Johnson created the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/agencies\/for-us-media-agency-of-the-year-um-making-cannes-worthy-movies-is-just-part-of-the-job\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">feature documentary 5B.<\/a>\u00a0Produced by UM Studios and J3, UM\u2019s dedicated media unit for Johnson &amp; Johnson, the film tells the story of Ward 5B, the first AIDS ward in the United States, which opened in 1983 at San Francisco General Hospital, and the nurses and caregivers who treated patients with respect and compassion during a time of great fear and uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a bold proposal,\u201d says Brendan Gaul, UM Studios\u2019 head and global chief content officer. \u201cA few minutes into our initial conversation, [the] client stopped us, saying she\u2019d heard enough. Incredibly, the client had been on the ground at San Francisco General Hospital, inside Ward 5B, delivering whatever Johnson &amp; Johnson products could potentially help the patients in the early AIDS crisis. Needless to say, the clients were all in and our journey was underway.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>5B was an official selection at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2019 and was acquired by Verizon for domestic and international cinematic release. It screened at 17 Pride celebrations across the country and is being incorporated into nursing curricula.
