UM Thailand has been awarded the media planning and buying account for Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei.

UM’s association with Huawei began last year, when the telecom company selected the agency to handle its media duties in the Philippines to grow its smartphone and laptop business. According to a Huawei representative, UM has the perfect combination of chemistry, strategic planning and buying capabilities and creative content ideas.

“Huawei has been operating in Thailand for 15 years and has been instrumental in building Thailand’s digital economy strategy,” said Kanokwan Kunaruangroj, Business Director, UM Thailand. “We look forward to partnering with them to help build the brand profile in the country and, in turn, transform Thailand into an information and communications technology hub in Southeast Asia.”

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. is a Chinese multinational networking and telecommunications equipment company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong. Its products and services have been deployed in over 140 countries. It currently serves 45 of the world’s 50 largest telecoms operators.

Congratulations Thailand.
