Following a competitive pitch, UM Australia has retained the media account for the National Broadband Network (NBN).

The account, worth approximately $20MM to $30MM, signifies NBN’s intent to expand its investment in marketing and media spend over the next year as it looks to boost its standing with consumers.

A government-backed organization, NBN Co. is an Australia-wide project to upgrade the existing fixed line phone and internet network infrastructure. It is considered essential for Australia’s transition to a digital future. Fast broadband has the potential to fuel growth and drive improvements to local economies, businesses and homes, bringing new opportunities to the entire country. NBN has pledged to be in 8 million homes by 2020.

UM emerged victorious against competitive agencies DentsuAegis’ Mitchell & Partners and Mindshare, part of GroupM.
