UM London has been named to the Government’s Strategy and Planning Roster. The appointment, shared with five additional media agencies, offers UM London the opportunity to pitch for government campaigns over the coming 2-4 years. The selection follows a competitive pitch process with the Government Procurement Service (GPS).

The Government received 46 bids from creative and media agencies across the UK and expects to spend between £24 million and £32 million through the framework over a four-year period, making it a prestigious appointment for the agency.

UM London will sit within the “Communications Planning” lot, which means if successful, they would be responsible for media planning, communication evaluation and reporting.

Alex Aiken, the Executive Director for Government Communications, told Campaign Magazine: “Our reforms to the way Whitehall works have seen us crack down on unnecessary marketing and advertising campaigns to make sure we’re as effective and innovative as possible when communicating with the public.”

Russell Place, Managing Director of UM London, said: “To be selected for the Government roster against pretty much every media agency out there is a huge achievement for UM London. Working on Government campaigns always throws up diverse and exciting challenges, and we can’t wait for the first opportunity to lend our media expertise.”
