The rate-card cost of placing an ad in Vogue ranges from £15,000 to £160,000. However, we learned this week, the editor-in-chief of British Vogue may sometimes need convincing to take your cash.

In a Radio 4 interview to highlight his magazine’s disability-focused May edition, Edward Enninful disclosed his role in dispensing with creative from major fashion brands that he feels is inappropriate.

“We have turned down so many ads,” he said, explaining that he frequently pushes advertisers to be more inclusive on race, religion and body size.

This uncommonly interventionist position from an editor sparked the interest of Campaign’s readership, some of whom would probably love to see some of the work that Vogue rejected and some probably surprised by this level of interference in an ad sales team’s business.
